Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Visited back in July. They have a lovely menu of variations of a small number of speciality dishes, although their signature dishes are the soufflés. These are made fresh are are absolutely fantastic. I got the black forest and a friend got the pistachio. Both came freshly cooked, soft and fluffy. The downside is that the cafe only takes cash."
"The soufflé pancakes are absolutely incredible. I’ve tried the salted caramel and the pistachio & strawberry so far, I’m already planning my next visit and can’t wait to bring my child along to try them too! The red velvet latte is another highlight. I’ve had it a few times now and honestly, it’s one of the best flavoured lattes I’ve ever had. I’ve tried similar drinks in places around Byres Road and the city centre, but nothing quite compares to the flavour and quality here. The café itself is beautiful — the interior is cosy and welcoming, and the staff are always so friendly and polite. I also really appreciate that it’s a cash-only business. It’s a small touch, but in this economy, it’s actually refreshing to see and adds to the charm of the place."
"Went for brunch as a birthday treat with husband & young teen son after seeing great reviews on tiktok etc. Oh my, food was amazing! Son had a Koko roll with hotdog. Yum! Washed down with an Oreo shake. Light fluffy pancakes for me & hubster. Biscoff for me & matcha for him. Like eating beautiful fluffy clouds! We didn't have a wait for a table but it was getting BUSY during our visit! The only downside of our visit is the toilet. I don't understand how a food establishment can have no hand soap in their toilet We arrived 15mins after opening so it definitely couldn't have just "run out" I would come back but with my own soap & antibac gel"
"My husband and i visited just for coffee at the counter and paid for that and we sat down at a table near the window in the sunshine. Only visited for drinks today but the gentleman at the next table had a steaming hot bowl of thick lentil soup with a bread roll. 5 minutes later a huge filled crepe with side salad also arrived at his table. Our coffees were lovely and quite reasonably priced, didnt have any food but might try it at a later date."
"Had a wonderful experience here. I have become a fan of their souffle pancakes and especially their red velvet latte was a highlight."
"The food was truly delightful, satisfying my cravings with each bite. Every dish was prepared in accordance with halal standards, which is a great comfort. Although they don't offer card payments, bank transfers are readily accepted. I appreciate the effort to provide delicious and permissible meals. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I would gladly repeat."
"This issuch a lovely cafe that serves coffee, matcha, hot chocolate and a plethera of other drinks. It also serves cakes and baked goods. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is chill and inviting, good for families. The prices are reasonable, but bear in mind they prefer cash and can only otherwise take bank transfers. Would recommend highly!"
"Always wanted to visit Koko house and finally managed to be there. Let me tell you the soufflé is just perfect. Apt amount of sweetness and fluffy as hell melts in your mouth. Husband orders the lentil soup which was tasty. I wanted to try their savoury crepe and let me tell you that’s also outstanding. After our visit we order at home as well. Ordered Swiss roll which was great too. I would love to go back again and again."
